We took an image of a girl and used the quick mask tool to edit it. I had some problems with the contrast at first but soon sorted them out. the problem was that instead of the background being black it turned gray and if you were to accidentally use the tool on her face it would carry some of the colour onto the black background.
Typography Demo:
in this demo i learned that you can use words to create a face, I found the demo hard as I couldn't seem to get the words to fit quite right. we used the pen tool to outline the face then used the text tool to right whatever we wanted and the outline would fit it into the shape we made with the pen tool, we erased the eyebrow completely and replaced it with a word then warped the word to make it into the shape of an eyebrow. the same can be done for the eyes the nose and pretty much everything.
Kaboom Motion Tween in Photoshop:
For this demo we wanted to create a background that looked like it had exploded, then add a text layer called KABOOM. To do this we used a cloud filter and
changed the colour, we then used distort, twirl to make it look more like flames, i also experimented with motion blur but i didn't quite get the look i wanted so in the end i gave up on it. For the text we embossed it and added outer glow (and for myself i also added inner glow) this made the text stand out more and seem like part of the explosion itself. And finally we used motion tweens on the text and had KABOOM coming from the left of the screen and INNOVATION & TRADITION IN ART & DESIGN coming from the right.Photoshop cabbage and patterns demo:
This is the same image as before except i rotated the canvas 90 degrees and added the text (Visual Freestyle). I selected the pixels of the text then copied the background and pasted it on the text layer, i then bevel and embossed the text and gave it an outer glow.
